CRASHED!
Moral of the story: don't let your friend drive your car. Last night i was out with some friends and one of them asked to drive my car, and I said sure, as long as you drive it in the parking lot for a while first. He did fine in the parking lot and he had just driven my friend's RX-8 and did fine. Well, i was in the car with him and he asked if he could take it on the street. I said yeah and he took it out, the streets were empty. He started getting pretty fast, but when he was shifting, numerous times he didnt put it all the way in so he kept bringing it to redline. I told him he should slow down and asked him if he was okay, but he just kept going. Well, he took it through a 90 defree turn going 80, lost control, skidded left, then right which spun us 180 degrees around, up a curb, hitting my front left fender on a pole. By then we were only going 10 mph or so, and I didnt even think we would hit it. I was in shock, and he started freaking out. Im just glad no one got hurt; the airbags didnt even go off. Surprisingly, the only thing i care about is that he pay for it and that I wont be able to drive it for a week or so. The damage was just estimated at about 3000, and insurance is going to cover it. Next week is going to be terrible without the stang. I guess he couldnt handle the power, he drives a prelude...
it sucks knowing its your friend and you cant bash on em for being excited.... leave a Get Well card inside your pony while she's in the shop... mechanics will think your crazy, but they will take extra special care... it works everytime... hehe

you asked him if he was okay and he just kept going. that's the first and last sign i would need to see before taking the wheel and pulling the car over. no one, and i mean NO ONE is going to drive my $30k ride and not be ready for it.
First off, why would you let a ricer drive your mustang? He should be executed for driving your car like that. Did he not hear you when you said slow down. Friend or not, if it was my car, his *** would be in the hospital. Especially if I said "you should slow down"! I let my brother drive my car the first day I got it and he tried to dump the clutch and stalled it. I told him to get out and took over driving from there. He will never drive another car of mine. I wouldn't even let him drive me to the hospital in my car if I was dying. I would tell him to call me a cab. Yes I love my car, even more than my own brother.
Sorry to hear that, I won't even drive someone elses car............just because, **** happens and I would never want to be responsible..............not that I can't drive, it is just respect.......would'nt even ask, It's like can I drive your girlfriend......?
