INSTALL HELP FOR CENTER FOG LIGHT GRILL S197
I just ordered the center relocation grill for a 2006 GT and I didn't bother to find out first how intense is the install. I met a couple of guys in Calabassas run couple of weeks ago with them on and they looked great. Had to have them but didn't ask them what and how long it took to put them on. Can anyone give some input. Any cutting, bumper needs to come off, do lights have to be realigned?See you all in O.C.

there are just 6 tabs on the stock grill that have to be depressed to pull the grille out. it was a little difficult for me the first time because i didnt know what i was doing. for the bottom four tabs on the grille you have to reach up under the grille where the holes are in your bumper. you will have to readjust the lights once in the new grille, but all you need for this is a screwdriver and it is really easy.

Mine was a bitch to install, I just cut the lower tabs off since I didnt care about the old grill. I had to lenghten the ligt cables a little to make them reach correctly but I didnt need to reaim any lights when I was done they still were aimed just like before. Some of the center grills have a slight clearence issue with the frame of the car as mine did (Probably a cheap grill) if so you can grind a little metal away and then refinish it like I did (sanding, primer, paint, ect) but with the upper cover on you wouldn't see it anyways.
Good luck

It was a tricky install, but just take your time... took me about an hour and a half. The toughest part is the tab holes on the bumper skin. You can bend them farther than you think, so just go for it.
As for the clearance issues, I think all center fog grills will have the same problem. Mine is a legit SSE grille, and there is a slight clearance issue. I'm sure that when I have to change the right fog bulb, I'll have to pull the grille out! Also, make SURE that you get the wiring harness extensions.

it is very easy.. i just replaced my front bumoper cover and i had to remove the grill too and it was piece of cake.. just unbolt the 2 top bolts that goes to bumper cover and disconnect the electrical connections and try to remove the grill slowly.. it should click but you need to use some force to get it out.. my bumper cover was off of the car and i deattached the grill from the cover in a minute and there are some screws on the foglights, if you unscrew those, the foglight will come loose.. i really cannot explain how to but there are some instrctions on the internet would help a lot.. all i can say is, it is NOT hard!

It takesfifteen minutes honestly the grille is just held in by the tabs and pulls right out. Also disconnect the fogs which is just a clip and then remove the fogs and put them in the new grille.
Very simple and is a very easy process.

If you want detailed instructions, go to the Moss Mustang website and go to the SSE grill. You can print off detailed instructions there. This is how I did mine as it came w/o instructions as well.
