My favorite brand is BMR, and I usually recommend the "combo" type of LCA which has a polyurethane bushing on one end and a steel bearing on the other. These are available as solid or adjustable depending on your needs.
What is the advantage/disadvantage of the:
poly bushings on each end
poly / rod end combo
poly / spherical bearing combo

Do the rod ends and spherical bearings cause more road noise?

Thanks for the great advice.

The trend is simple: the less poly and the more steel you have, the stiffer and louder the suspension will be:

Poly/poly: Better than stock, but still fairly soft. Very small road noise increase compared to stock.

Poly/spherical combo: A lot stiffer than stock. Also maintains better articulation due to the spherical bearing. A slight-to-moderate road noise increase vs. stock. Most people are OK with this though some people that expect a cadillac-like quiet ride may not like it.

Spherical/Spherical: Extremely stiff, excellent articulation, and very loud. Not acceptable to most people on a street car. Typically used for race use only, not a daily driver.

how about these?

CrazyAl, would you agree these are not offset?
They are not offset in the literal sense, but they dohave a very slight angle to them. That and the heim joint mean they will not bind, so long as they are properly installed.

Looks like the BMR TCA021 is the one for me. I want to go adjustable becauseI know I might want to lower the rear a bit later, or even get a one piece drive shaft if the prices come down later. I still need to consider warranty.

Yes, they are quite loud! Also you really feel it if you hit a bump or a pothole.

Again, it depends somewhat on what your preferances are. Some people would probably be OK with running them on the street....but most people? No way.

We've been selling Spohn for many years now and the quality, service and pricing is excellent. They typically use better rod ends than some of the competition.

What about these? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PERF-...QQcmdZViewItem I think it says they are the "poly-ball" combo. For someone not looking to lower their ride or anything like that I think they may be suitable.. Not to mention, the price is right!!!

I have the Spohn poly/rod end and they are noticably louder than stock. Although on a smooth road they are quiet.
