Default Trade for Auto???

Ok. So I have a 2005 GT with a manual, but my left knee is starting to bother me and at times it is uncomfortable, so I have a couple of choices and I figured I would see what you guys think.

Buy the automatic and get a CAI with a custom SCT tune. You won't regret it. I've come to the realization, that at 47, my knees also aren't what they used to be. I don't think that I'll ever buy another manual transmission car. I do wish ford would have paddle shifting as an option on their automatics, though.

knee brace is for mobility and circular movement. a knee brace would be ineffective and even cumberson to use with a clutch. so a knee brace would not solve it.

I agree 100%.

I have the auto for a few reason one of which is bad knees and shoulders so shifting is out for me. Also since it is the wifes car and she does not know how to drive a stick and had no intention of learning. The Auto tranny in these cars is very very nice and very responsive.

I'm an older fellow who does not do much racing, so the auto has been just fine for me -- very quick and responsive in my 05 GT. Plus, as others have mentioned, my wife sometimes drives mine, so she really likes the auto. My first Mustang was a stick, so in my heart I clearly know that the stick fully expresses the soul and heart of a GT . . . I guess I'm just getting soft in my old age, but I like the auto most of the time.

I know how you feel, I injured my knee in High school playing football, then I had a motor cycle accident at 22, torn ligaments severed nerves and a fractured hip. Now at 44 my knee is almost in constant pain. As much as I love Manual Trannys, I just can’t use the clutch for long periods. I’ve got to say that these new Autos in the S197 are very nice with a tune. You will love it..
Plus the 07 have some new options that the 05 did not have, Navigation, Tire pressure sensors, ect.. Good Luck
