passenger air bag question

RE: passenger air bag question
This is turned off automatically when the seat detects a weight in it that is small in nature. This is easy for you to test by sitting a good sized book (yellow pages) or gal of milk etc in the front seat, clicking the seat belt and turning on the car. You will see the icon that says "passenger air bag off" or somethig like that.
There is no other way to turn this off I know off less fuse, computer tampering, etc.
Curious to know what you want this off as well. Unless you hate your girlfriend and are planning on running head first into a wall. Can't think of many reasons to do this???

RE: passenger air bag question
As anyone knows, kids in the front seat and airbags are not a good combo. Airbags can do more harm to a young person. So I was just wondering if a kid is in the front seat how to turn off the airbag while there are in the seat. I know about the sensor in the seat that detects a person sitting there because you can hear the seat belt dinger until the strap in. Didnt know about the sensor that detects small amounts of weight and turns off the airbag. Thanks all.
