Boss mustang "allegedly" will be the performance replacement of SVT. I think the new body comes out in 2008 or 2009. SVT's funding is pennies of what it used to be. I would be suprised to see anything from SVT for quite a while. I have heard of an engine that will replace the 6.8L v10. It is a 6.4L SOHC v8 that is supposed to pack some serious gurth. Rumor has it that the Boss, SuperDuty and whatever else will have this 6.4L. BTW, it has dual plugs like the old 2.3 did, but I don't believe the dual plug setup is for the same reason (HC emissions).

Well, when I buy a new Mustang, I wont have to worry about if something is potentially wrong with it, as it is brand new and I am the only person who has messed with it. When you go used, you have to make damn sure that the person who had it before you didnt abuse the car, and then you end of with a piece of ****. I just hope they at least keep the Vista Blue and Pony Package features. When does Ford usually put out their update on the new model? I mean if they do change over to the new model in July, then shouldnt they be telling us whats gonna be new or different soon?

They changed over in mid-June in 2006 to build the 2007s.

Does anyone know if they are going to change the pony package or the colors any? I seriously want the Vista Blue Pony Package. I am also learning the perks of waiting tobuy mine....by the time I am ready to buy my Mustang, I will havea good downpayment, tag and insurance, and enough left over the several months of payments, maybe more

I don't know, but I doubt they would discontinue the pony package since they seem to be having such a large success with it. I personally think it makes the sixers look 10x better.

I put an order in for mine at the end of March last year, and the order got kicked back from Ford a couple weeks later, they said they weren't filling orders for '06s anymore and that I could order an '07.

I told my dealer I didn't want to order an '07, I didn't want to wait. I said if he can find me one that I wanted a black stick-shift GT.

He did a dealer search for me and at first couldn't find one. He asked what other colors I'd take, I told him any color as long as its black. Then I said I don't care what options it has as long its a GT, black, and manual tranny. Finally they found mine in a dealer trade a few weeks later.

I would be hard to believe that they would change a body that is selling so well. It could prove fatal to sales. They got a winner with the S197. I think they will keep it for a few more years at least.
