Hey yall. I have heard that Ford may be doing a redesign of the Mustang in either 2008 or 2009. Because of my current situation (finishing college) I will be unable to actually get my Mustang until around August or September this year. I really like the design the Mustang has now, but why would they do another redesign after only 3-4 years? I am kinda worried that I wont be able to get the Mustang I actually want, which is a V6 Premium Coupe, with the Pony Package, in Vista Blue. I also heard through the grapevine that the Boss will be back in 2008. I am sure by the time I am able to get my Mustang the new ones will already beginning to come on the scene. Will this make it easier or harder for me to get the Mustang with all the features I want? I was just concerned that with the new year coming up that they may take away the Pony Package feature, and other features that I want, and was really concerned with Ford doing away with the Vista Blue color. What do yall think? Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

 

From what I've heard and seen, I think the HP is going up on the GT, and its going to look more like the GT500 up front, thats about it, I think. As for colors, who knows, Legend Lime is gone already, (although I think they'll keep the Vista Blue).

 

love the vista blue, you couldn't find any auto GT's within 400 miles of STL in the vista blue, so I had to have one shipped from chicago. As far as I know, the earliest possible redesign will be 2009. The 2008 should be pretty much the same with possibly some small option changes like with every other year.

 

Shouldt I still be able to get a new 2007 Mustangfrom the factory with the 2007 features in the fall?

 

Me personally i wouldn't get a new v6 when you can get a used one with very low miles for like 8grand less. Also, there is no point in waiting for the new stang, there is always a new version like every 5 years. This new version won't be that drastic of a change though. It's gonna kindof be like when the stangs went from 98-99. It will bea redesign and a bump in HP.

There have been rumors though that a new 3.5 v6 will go in there. It will be a version of the current 3.5 found in the Ford Edge (puts out about 265HP and 260ish TQ) But that is speculation and shouldn't be taken to heart. So i guess its up to you!!

 

Fall, (depending on month) might be too late to get an order in, might have to buy from the lot by then.

I don't know when the cut-off date is exactly, but I think the factory will be making '08s by then...

 

The next major redesign isnt until 2011..... I forget where I read this but it was a credible source.... if i can find it again I will post it!

I think they stop taking orders sometime in May. Then they balance out what they have left in commodities for 07. They will then start building the 08 in July sometime. The order bank for the 08 will open probably in June.
