HorsePower Difference w/ CAI + Tuning
Guys, I was planning on getting this;
http://www.brenspeed.com/mustang2005v6/airkittuner.html
C&L 05-07 V6 MUSTANG AIR INTAKE & XCAL 2 PACKAGE
I just wanted to know some information on the horsepower difference. This is my first mod and I heard this is the way to go. So if anyone could give me a dyno sheet or any numbers that would be great.
Thanks,
Justin

Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Magazine did a write-up on mods on the S197 V6 (cai, 93 octane tune, pullies, and muffler (not duals)) and they got a 20rwhp increase on the dyno.

Yeah I will say you are going to pick up a decent amount....certainly noticable. I am not sure what the gains would be with just a CAI and tune for a six though.
As for the muffler question you posed. I agree that adding a complete catback system might be the best but it will cost more, I am not quite sure what the popular choice is. You might want to post and do a search in the 4.0 forum only and you are sure to find some good answers.
The CAI with tune is a great starting point for anyones vehicle though.

RE: HorsePower Difference w/ CAI + Tuning
My daily driver is a '99 V6 mustang with Mac CAI and true duals (custom cat-back, no mid-pipe) and it gave me a decent power increase. The sound is my favorite part though, it made the car sound 300 times better and the 3inch tips coming out the back look better too. That car (auto) has run a best of 15.59 in the 1/4 so i dropped a decent amount of time off my 1/4 as well.

The best bang for your buck mods for the 6er are: Intake, Tune, and Muffler. Heres a good thread about the gains you can see:

RE: HorsePower Difference w/ CAI + Tuning
Thats a great thread. Did I read that correctly?.. a single GT Takeoff plus a tune and maybe a CAI... but the axleback and tune to get near 18 in HP and Tq? I already have the GT Take off... a K&N drop in and a good tune should do tech trick then?
