Tire question.
I would like to replace my standard pirelli nero on my 06mustang gt to get better traction.
My first question is : will these fit my stock rims ? http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...8857&ar=50
second question : what should I do to have them installed ? where should i go ?
Thanks !

RE: Tire question.
Get a wider tire for the rear...you will need to have more width in your rear along with a DR to boot like a 315/35 17 or a 315/30 18 somehing like that to help with traction. Your stock rims are 8" wide go with an aftermarket wheel with the stated tire above

RE: Tire question.
No discount tires near ya? Try to find a reputable shop, and one that will promise they wont damage wheels.
Also I recommend no weights on the outside, have them use stick on weights.
Maybe some chrome sleeved valve stems too!
Can have them shipped anywhere.
Keep in mind on avg a shop will charge 10 per tire for dismount/mount + the balancing and stuff.

RE: Tire question.
Make sure there isn't a discount tire near you. Those are the tires I was going to go with if I don't get different wheels. Discount tire direct is the cheapest I have found for that tire, and then take them to a discount tire store and have them installed. Follow stoenr's advice about the weights on the inside. That tire is much stickier than the stock Pirelli M&S due to softer compound and wider contact patch. If there is no discount tire, take it to a place than has the latest tire install machines. They should have plastic parts so as not to damage your rim. Stay clear of the places that have the old school metal claws and crowbars. I have seen a lot of tire places with shabby equipment and had to deal with one place damaging my wheels on a previous car. If you can, go back and watch them work on your car so you can stop them if they damage a rim and then they can't dispute it. Also, a lot of these places seem to be little Johnny's first place for emplyoment and at 15-16 yrs old they may not be as careful as they should be.

RE: Tire question.
Check to see if you DO have a Discount Tire there near you...I bought some aftermarket wheels for my last car from them, and they had it shipped to the store I go to for free, and gave me the price on the website as a store purchase. Took a few days longer than I would have had if I'd ordered them from the website, but I didn't have to shell out an additional $40 for shipping, so to me that was worth the wait...
