Default Spontaneous trunk opening

I need some input on some issue i've had three times. For the 3rd time since i got the car (a year ago) the trunk opened after i'd been driving for a short amount of time. It has happened twice in the last month and had happened once over the summer. Back then i thought maybe i'd left the trunk open accidentally or something. Today was cold and i started the car to warm it up. As i drove out of the driveway, the dash signaled the trunkw as open so i got out and closed it. Any ideas would be appreciated!

The most common stated reason is you inadvertantly hit the button on the keyfob, either while in your pocket, while pulling it out, or while pressing the door unlock button.
Haven't heard anyone state another verified reason yet.

I may have done it then. But i don't touch the fob once the car is started and it was running for a few minutes while warming up. and it didn't signal that the trunk was open until 10 s after i drove away. Doesn't the dash signal immediately when the trunk is opened or does it wait for the car to be in motion?

It's happened to me a few times, usually shortly after pulling out of driveway.

You don't have to hit the key fob when you start the car. You may have hit the key fob when you last got out of the car. What happens is you start the car and start to drive. The "Trunk open" alarm only sounds once you have started down the road. Sometimes if you have the tunes blasting and aren't paying attention you may drive for miles before you notice the alarm. When I first received my car this trunk alarm happenned about three times. Then I realized thte reason was most likely me hitting the fob at some point. It hasn't happenned since. BTW The trunk ajar key fob event occurs as oftne as the key fob "oh crap I just hit the panic alarm button by mistake". Only that error is much much noticeable. LOL

I know there have been some issues with trunk alignment, take a look at your stangs, sometimes there is a much bigger gap on the right side beside the tail lights and the left side is lower?Take a look!! There has also been some hoods pop open too!

If you let that trunk monkey out once in a while he'll stop doing that.....Might just have a faulty remote.

you might be hitting the button, but the lid didn't move enough to open the switch when you move the car it then opens the switch the light comes on. my son opens mine all the time. i have to stop at the end of the drive way to close it
