Ford standardized the rear end for ease of production, (since now it doesn't matter what kind of tranny is present). Its a money issue... they could care less about the guzzler tax...

I think you are right ....why would ford care about a gas guzzler tax when they don't get themoney for it the government does!?

I also agree that they probably don't care, but...on the other end of things, it makes some sense (IMO) for them to care because they may sell more cars if there's no guzzler tax, which would net them more money...just a thought.

I'm guessing the people (like us) that are buying these cars could give a crap about the extra tax, and are going to buy it either way.
