They need to break in the motor first before they can use those rumored 400 horsies
To be the V8, you'll need a GT. Of course do the basics, CAI, exhaust, better tires, wheels, suspension, etc. Then add a Supercharger to top it off. I'm thinking 450 HP right there. And a modded supercharged 450HP Mustang GT will perform a lot better than a stock 400 HP Camaro. IMO

According to my March 2007 issue of Motor Trend;
And you also can expect the same variety of engines for the convertible as for the coupe. The convertible concept has last year's ram-air 6.0-liter LS2 engine, rated 400 horsepower and with Active Displacement Management......Built on the next generation Holden/Zeta architecture, the car has independent reasr suspensions. It's likely the base engine will be the DOHC 3.6-liter V-6, not the 3.9-liter pushrod V-6.
......you're looking at the convertible you're likely to find in dealerships in 2009.

Hrmm -- Well I'm not worried until I see one on the road & it beats me. I have a real close friend with an 06GTO automatic ... same engine as the Camaro... the LS2 engine (according to his forums & dyno's there) put's down 353 to the wheels... thats the goat though... anyone know what the weight of a new Camaro is supposed to be around? It's all about power to weight ratio
I really wouldn't get to much into the Camaro yet as it's not here... I'm looking forward to it though... wouldn't mind a run at it

I saw the Camaro concept convertible at the Cleveland auto show yesterday. I was underwhelmed.
I think Ford did a better job with their retro car. However, this was a concept car. We'll see how it looks when produced. It was stated that the car will be out in the fall of 2008 and will have the 6.0 L V-8, having 400 h.p. I don't plan on racing a Camaro or any other car. Hopefully, Ford will respond by increasing the Mustang GT's h.p. appropriately for those out there who feel they must race a Camaro.

Or you can just wave, smile, wish them well and enjoy your great car.
