Thanks for all the advice. Well it definitely won't be a weekend car. I can only afford one car at a time and that would be it. I was seduced by the car's amazing power and it got me thinking about getting one. The stang is definitely more practical. I was just wondering what you guys would do in this situation.

Ok i know this is a mustang forum and i've generally been a mustang guy but i need advice on this. I have an opportunity to get a 2007 corvette in about a month for a good price and i would have to trade the mustang in for that. Now you gotta remember it's my daily driver and i'm in the North East. I love the look of the mustang but the performance of the vtte does get to me. What would you guys do?

IMHO............
if its about the performance only.... add a S/C and some suspension/brake upgrades and your stang will out perform the Vette...
however... if you drive more than 30mins to/fro work..... and it's mostly hwy... I'd say go w/ the Vette...
Stangs are great!! I love mine... but I really considered the Vette first.... (weekend car for me)... but w/ 2 young kids....I needed the back seat!!
The Vette is the great american sports car.... the Stang the great american pony car.....
good luck w/ the decision

If I needed a backseat and better ground clearence, then I'd go with the Mustang. I also think the Mustang is more comfortable. If you're looking for luxury features, performance, and mileage, then you should buy the Corvette.
I've owned two Corvettes, a 1971 and currently a 2000. I'm currently daily driving my C5. The S197 comes out of the garage when I need a backseat or a more comfortable ride. I truly enjoy both cars and would absolutely hate to choose between them.
The Mustang can be made to outperform the Corvette in a straight line, but that's true for any vehicle. Not in the corners, though, the Corvette is going to be superior. In addition there are gadgets that can't be modded...I actually like the Vette's active handling system, telescoping wheel, and HUD, for example.
I've driven a C6 before and it's even better than my C5. Much nicer interior, too!
The Mustang is going to be more practical in many ways. The Corvette should work OK in light snow with the proper tires. I think the Corvette would be awful in deep snow. If you find yourself plowing through several inches and you can't afford a beater (or walk to work, take a bus, etc.), then you should probably stick to the Mustang.
If you do a lot of highway driving, then the Corvette is going to get better mileage. It has a bigger tank too, so a better range. In the city, though, you probably won't notice that much difference between the Corvette and the Mustang.
I'd go over to the Corvette Forum and ask them about their C6's and the snow. It's a relatively common discussion thread over there.
Good luck with your decision. You can't really go wrong with either car.

If you're driving a GT500 as a DD in winter in NJ, what's the difference between that and a Corvette? Get the Vette and be happy. If you can call a cab or bum a ride from a co-worker if it should snow.
