Add me to the dead battery list too. Happened to me this morning after the pony sat inside the garage while I was on vacation last week. My dealer is replacing the battery this afternoon under warranty, so no out of pocket expense to me.

Mine, radio was off, CD holder empty. Although ther trunk was resting on the latch and not fully closed.
A habit from the 1970 Mustang.

I wouldn't want the dealer to replace mine, although I am sure they would. Give me the cash equivalent so I can go buy a REAL battery is what I am going to ask for. I don't care if it's $30, I wouldn't want another cheap junk factory battery in my car.

Are you kidding me? New cars and people have to worry about dead batteries if they sit more than a week? Not to mention you can't take, what seems like most of them, out in rainy weather? Maybe I should just cancel my order.
ROFLMAO!!!

Really... No problems here... no garage, gets rained on , snowed on, had it out in the rain, also no battery tender, had it sit about a month and...it started right up... go figure!!! LOL

The dead battery issue is frustrating but not disastrous, and not 100% of the cars. Based on two polls conducted on this forum, the leak issue appears in about 10% or less of 2005-2006 models owned by forum members, not sure if any are reported in 2007 models. If you account for the fact that many people come to the forum just to search out information on problems, my bet is that the leak issue exists on less than 5% of 2005-2006 models.

Mine doesn't leak. It's just got the dead battery syndrome. By the way C6 'vettes and numerous other GM products have also had dead battery syndrome issues.

And yet another dead battery. We purchased this V6 premium for our son in December. It was in storage for over 2 months with no problems. Started driving it a little lately. It now has699 miles on it and it has been a little over a week since last started and driven. Today the battery was dead. I called the dealership and they told me this was happening, and I should start it weekly. I couldn't believe it!!!

One other thing. Even when the romote locks wouldn't work and the car wouldn;t start, the security light on the dash was still flashing. Not sure what this means, but maybe it will help someone figure out the problem.

I wonder how much drain the Active Anti-Theft System has on these cars? So far I have not had a problem.

I know this is an old problem but I just went for a lousy 3 day trip and even with the new battery it started slow and the gauges didn't kick in for 3-4 seconds after it started. Ford has too much running with the key off. Oh and I don't have the Shaker either and turn off the radio too anyway. Glad I run it everyday.
