I've been using Chevron exclusively with my '07(I don't know why, just a weird mental thing I guess). Anyway, I've noticed this problem too but only at certain stations. I haven't paid any attention at all to the types of pumps but I don't think it's a problem with my car. Again, some stations will do this but most wont (w/ my car).

I've had this problem quite frequently. I just hold the nozzle upside down. Now I see so many have this problem. I'll be stopping at the dealer to have it fixed now that I know. Thanks.

I live in Oregon we are not allowed to fill our own cars. So I sit in the car and listen to the stereo and Goober has to deal with the pump.

I just pump it slow and it's fine. Seems that if I pump it too fast that's when the problem shows up. Also in NJ you can't pump yourself either.

I don't stand and hold the handle (I live in Minnesota). I set it and leave it. Haven't had any problems filling so far.
same here I set it and then clean the windows

but once when putting gas in someone else's car (2001 explorer)at a shell station (I normally go to exxon because it's very close) and at shell I had the same problem
there is aproblemwith the nozzles at shell stations they have a very bad design that doesn't allow unattended fill-up

Yesterday I checked my car. It was made on MAR 2005. That means it is qualified to have a new gas tank replacement. It will shut off if it is at 6 o'clock position, but, it is always OK to fill if I put the nozzle in 3 o'clock position . I don't know what to do? Take it to the dealer to have a new gas tank or live with it by using 3 o'clock position to fill gas.

Its a common problem. Fords suggestion to me was use a different pump or turn the fuel nozzle upside down. Here is the TSB on it: Hope this works!!

Good Luck
