IS THE STOCK RADIO AMPLIFIED OR ARE THERE EXTERNAL AMPS FOR SPEAKERS. DO YOU JUST WIRE IT AS STANDARD POWER WIRES AND SPEAKER WIRES.

Theres a special harness to make the door subs work when you put in a aftermarket HU. You can just wire up regular but you wont have the subs

Is there anyway I can do this without replacing the HU? I want to keep the Shaker 500 HU, but maybe throw in an amp to power the subs more? Would that work? And how would I be able to do this? Sorry not wanting to hi-jack the thread but since we were on the subject..

Its the sound processing in the HU thats the problem. Im sure u can get some kind of EQ and get it properly tuned and it will help a good bit but its the inital sound processing in the shaker500 thats the problem.

Hmm.. ok.. I'll think about getting an EQ. How's this one look? http://www.crutchfield.com/S-FSB0Dfd...i=1134042A#Tab

Think this'll help the subs a little bit? I was thinking about redoing all the speakers, change out the subs, and change the HU, but the funds are gonna go toward something else.

ORIGINAL: POWERS

I jsut got theb basic factory system becasue i knew i would change everything, which i did. So what size are the subs in the door?
8"

ORIGINAL: azstanglover

I thought the subs for the Shaker 1000 were in the back.

I also thought that the Shaker 500 doesn't have any subs at all. But then again, that is a pretty big speaker grill they put on the doors.
Both the Shaker 500 and 1000 have 2, 8" door subs and the Shaker 1000 has one 10" (I believe) in the trunk.
