A good cleaner/wax and some nice gentle rubbing will do the trick. Also, a waxed car seems to help the process ofremoving future bug carcasses. Like a previous poster said, always wash them off as soon as possible while they are still pliable. Don't let them harden, if possible.

I still have some bug residue in the grille left over from last year. Whats the best way to get the black honeycomb grille pieces cleaned.

Honestly? A toothbrush. It's a pain in the a$$ but if you're that detail oriented, you won't mind the extra elbow grease required.

I try to remove as much of the carnage while fresh because if you let itbake in very hot wheather they are hard to remove, However you can always use Turttle wax bug remover or any all in one wax that contains cleaners will take care of the problems, bird drops is a different thing because it contains acids that can damage the finish permanently. Also Meguire's web site contains a lot of info on how to keep your paint like new.

That brings a picture to my mind of the 'stang grinning while I brush her teeth. Not a comment on the validity of your suggestion, just my strange sense of humor.

BTW, OCD usually means obsessive-compulsive disorder, but I think some of you guys may be guilty of "obsessive-compulsive detailing"! I do have to admit I've never washed a car as much as I've washed this mustang.

Turtle Wax bug & tar removerworks extremely well and is very safe. It helped me geta few stubbornwater spots off my windshield that wouldn't come off for months.

I hate bugs and scraping them out of the honeycomb grill, which is why I went for the billets. When I go home (45 min drive) I get bugs galore, the trick is to have it be waxed and they come off easier, if you do it immediately after the drive. I usually use some quick detailer. I had a midnight blue focus zts, and it was the biggest pain to keep clean.

This one time I was driving back and I saw a small cloud of dark green, as I went through it, they turned out to be grasshoppers. It sounded like rain on my windshield and it was Grade A nasty.

I hate bugs.

Make sure you "over wax" the front of your car. The bugs will wipe off with a damp soft cloth.
