Bugs!

RE: Bugs!
That's good! If you leave bug guts on the car they will cause your paint to pit. During lovebug season here in Florida I wash the front of my car every day and I wax it.
For the original poster, if washing doesn't take it all off use some Meguiars cleaner wax. It works great.

First thing I learned is that theseare Lean Mean Bug Killin Machines. My neighbors probablythink I'm nuts cause I get home from work around midnight and the first thing I'll do is grab the hose and start rinsing those pesky little creatures off my front end, Just keep a good healthy coating of a good wax on her and wash her often. I have a Buick that I drive when it's not nice out and I could go a month without washing it and not have half the bugs I get just driving home one night in my Stang.

I agree....very easy to use. I mean if the car was taken care of in the first place soap and water will work for the bigger bug parts and then a bug a tar remover for the rest. It is that easy and leaves the finish slicker than before they were splattered on the bumper. When I hear 80 grit sand paper and scraping and such of the paint I cringe! Don't do those things! Todays clearcoat has its advantages but it is very easily marred esp if you have a dark paint like mine! JMO

Turtle Wax bug & tar removerworks extremely well and is very safe. It helped me geta few stubbornwater spots off my windshield that wouldn't come off for months.

I clean the front end, fenders, back of mirrors (painted mirror covers), pillars and roof on top of windshield everyday after work and any other time I go out. I use detailing spray and a micro towel. I pretty much get any bug spots...

RE: Bugs!
I carry a product designed for bug removal. It is called Bug Squash by Poorboys World. Bug Squash is also good at removing tar. It can be used full strength for bad areas or 3:1...3 parts water/one part soulution. It also also very safe on the paint and won't take off your wax. Most of the time I use the 3:1. Just pretreat the areas before you wash and the bugs will come off real easy.

RE: Bugs!
I always found a "bug sponge" (a sponge with nylon net over it) and a bucket of warm soapy water worked just fine. As was pointed out earlier, wash it off when they are fresh. Keep a good coat of wax on the front surfaces, makes removal easier.

Like Moosestang, "Lovebug" captial here in Florida.
They actually thrive in road heat and exhaust conditions AND
contain an acid in their bodys that will roast a paint job inno time.
Extra wax on the front and a wash-down when I get home,
aint feelin the love.......................
