Whether or not it's totaled, you won't want to be driving a car after it has frame damage. You will have soooo many problems in the long run, and it might not even be as safe once fixed. Bite the bullet and get a GT. You will be happy with it. Also, don't drive on ice anymore.
yea gotta agree, just do like the lady with the beautiful blue stang is doing

I was just watching video of cars skidding out in the ice and snow on Youtube and it just seems like many of them were just going too darn fast!
Of course taking a main road might be better because it is more likely to be bulldozed. Maybe we should call Mr. Plow???

BTW, the damage shown to my car cost just over $1100 to fix. Has a rental for a week and paid $1000 deductible, and my insurance company RAISED MY RATES! Next time I won't be filing a claim.

i went to vist her ... it doesn't seem as bad as first thought however, i am fairly sure the front right tire is not attched at all. i stuck my camera behind the tire to snap a picture but i didn't want to stick my head under there. i wish they had the front end on jack stands, but i realize that the fender/tire wheel among others are shot anyway so its all psycholgical (looks painful).

i've also attached a composite picutre of the plow guy who witnessed the accident.

I have four blizzacks on my GT and it is fine in the winter. I would not take it out in super deep snow. But no different from any other car.

If you are not running snow tires, you are asking for problems. They make the world of difference.
+100. Wouldn't be caught without Blizzaks in the winter. classj is right, they make all the difference.

Well, two body shops (Ford body shop & an independent) have told me that "they can fix my ride" but both said they really dont want to fix it (pain in the *** job w/both frame rails crinkled). As it stands right now, we probably wont be fixing the car, just selling as is (keeping all my mods, wheels/tires included), getting the repair check (which is soon to be over $8 grand) and getting that "nightmare" of a wreck gone so no one ends up with a brand new bucket of junk. I dont even want to trade it in anywhere. The VIN/title will now be badly blemished as well. We may or may not have to take a hickey financially (depending the outcome with the insurance co)but we are certainly not going to be driving that car. I dont care how great the repairs, that car will never be the same. And, Ive heard that from the body shops and many other people that we know in the auto industry. Makes no sense to even try to keep this car and I hate to have to say that too cuz I truly LOVED MY CAR!!!!

It does not look all that bad body wise to me. But I really cant tell. Is that the control arm or k-frame hanging??

It takes quite a bit to total these cars as the parts are not horribly expensive to buy new. It is always a tricky perdiciment. To try to get the car totaled, you would want to argue that the car is not worth book because of this reason and that reason and show that the demand on V6's is low, etc etc. If the car was definatly totaled, I would be arguing for more money than book because of the nice condition, etc etc.

They get you coming and going. Best bet is that if they can fix the car, let them. The damage does not look that bad. Then sell it and get a new car.

That looks rough, but it definitely won't be totaled.

aw that sucks, i hope they declare it as totalled or u should get it to do so seeing that ford and the other body shop see it as something almost impossible to do and not worth it, if you can get a written paper from them and submit it to ur insurance maybe they just know how bad the damage is really or something
