how is this tire combo?

RE: how is this tire combo?
It will look about the same as your current setup, just an bigger in diameter. The diameter on the 17" is 27.2 inches. The diameter on the 18" is 28.1 inches. Your speedo will be off by about 2 mph unless you use the tuner to adjust the tire size. It will definately raise the rear of the car.

you'll be able to rotate but that would defeat the purpose of going w/ the stagger that you propose.... you could (if you dont get directional tires) rotate side to side.....and yes you'll shorten the life of the tires by not rotating... you'll maximize the life by keeping the pressue accurate and keeping the alinment correct

The back end will be jacked in the air an extra inch or so since a 285/40/18 would keep the same diameter as the front. Having a larger diamter tire and wheel may look good, idk, I have never seen it so it may look cool.
Err, why would you try and rotate that combo? Fat tires up front and skinnines in the back????

Yeah, I'd also like to see a 255 on 17" wheels. I have the stock 235/55s on 17" wheels but mine are 9" deepdish. I'd like to go wider, but I don't want the tires to stick out past the fenders more than 1/4 inch.
