Built Block...almost done

Built Block...almost done
Back in December, I blew the motor in my 05' GT. I was running just over 480 RWHP on a very aggressive tune on the stock motor, not a good idea!
It's been at GTR in Southern California, a Mustang specialist, family operated since 1997. The block was unfortunately damaged and had to replace it but the stock heads were OK. The heads are being ported & polished with stage 1 competition cams, and a forged cobra 8 bolt pattern crank. They will be tossing back the p1 procharger with some JBA long tube headers and tons of other goodies. So far they have been very helpful and friendly to work with. I should be getting the stang back within 2 or 3 weeks, which then I will have to place about 1,000 miles for the motor to brake in properly before putting it on the dyno, which I hope will be done before the OC meet in May. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up so if your looking for a performance shop in Southern Cali, so far I recommend GTR but will update when the project is complete!

Well, Apparently the rod somehow bent cuasing a severe gash in the block. I didn't acutally "Blow" the motor but it damage several things. I was running 481 RWHP with a fairly agressive tune on 91 octane with 13 lbs. of boost on the p1 procharger supercharger. I guess all those redlines caught up to the stock internals!

To be able to achieve 481 RWHP on a stock block on 91 octane is very difficult to do, you really have to have an agressive tune set up. Normally, cars would run about 450 or so with 93 octane. I would advise less bost, a conservative tune, and don't beat the S**T out of it all to often and you should be OK.
