Daniel,
Best of luck with it. Just take your time and don't get frustrated...Sometimes it feels as though they just aren't going to lay down right, but they do....

Also, just keep in mind, that the worse that can happen is that you hose one of the stripes.....Not the greatest thing to happen, but easily replaced.....

Give me a shout if you need anything, or, cruise on out here to OC!! I'll give ya a hand!!

What do you mean by 'hose'? and i will probably give you a shout if i get stuck on something.

I just came back from LA last week, i was there for a couple of days visiting my Mom and some of the family. Hopefully next time I go I can go to some of those cruises Stang Skeleton is talking about!!!

Thanks

I did mine, and it isn't so hard, as it is time consuming, try to have a helper. Don't let the stripes get wet until you are ready to apply them. Thefrontbumper was the onlypart I hadtrouble getting perfect.( it turned out OK, not perfect.) I messed up the lower frontbumper, piece and I called BSM'sand they promptly sentout a replacementstripe.(Great Folks!)I used 3m painters tape(1 1/2 inch) to mark the center of the car.

Good Luck!

I am on my third '06 mustang..long story. I have striped everyone one so far by myself. I'm not exactly a mechanically inclined kind of person. However I think all three turned out well. The first one was a kit from someone other than BSM and it was very difficult. It was not cut very well and I did have to stretch some of the material to get it on right. However the last two kits I have done have been from BSM and they have turned out great. First one was 10inch stripes with 1/2 inch pinstripes. Second was the wide hood stripes and the reverse C stripes, now these were alot more difficult but still doable. I had to have a second drivers side hood stripe sent to me cause the first one I messed up. I would say to do it yourself, I took the day off of work and had it done by dark. So it took me about 10 hours to do them total for the racing stripes. Just be patient, measure where it goes. I use crayon to mark the middle and then painters tape to outline it. Make sure you clean the car really well to get all the wax off prior to doing it. Do what she said and use lots of lube, that way if you mess up you can still move it. One other peice of advice that I have is BSM has more than likly sent you a squeege with your decal. The first one I use was nice and plexible and worked well. The most recent kit that I recieved the squeege was a lot harder, it was white..first one was yellow. If you have the white one I would recommend using a microtowel around it to stop and scratching of your decal and the paint. If I can do this I'm sure you could do it as well, just be patient and take your time.

That's awesome! thanks a bunch for all your input. I purchased the 10" rally stripes with the 1 " side stripes similar to your black car, which BTW looks great!

If i'm not wrong i got a green squeege, i'll see if i'll use a microtowel anyway to avoid stratching, this is my first time and I'm probably going to mess something up, but i'm goind to try my hardest not to!!

Thanks a bunch
I'll be doing this all sunday hopefully i'll have pics by monday

Daniel,
Ya, I second what Jarhead said....There was no stretching involved with the BSM kit. If you are still in question on that;
A. Check the instructions on the BSM site. Says nothing really of stretching...
B. Take the stripes out of the tube they shipped in (which you should do ahead of time anyway, so they will relax...) and measure a specific stripe for a specific spot on your car. You will see that they are long enough without stretching....

Also, when you take the stripes out of the tube, you should find a roller type squeege from BSM....USE THAT!! Try to stay away from the rigid squeege, as Jarhead said, it will easily scratch your stripes.....I would highly suggest that if you did not receive a roller squeege, get one before you start!!

Mike
