Did you order your Stang?
I came in to my dealer with a specific list of what I wanted. Once they saw I was serious about buying, they bent over backwards searching for a car with exactly what I wanted. It took them almost two hours, but they found my car at another dealership the next state over. They did a dealer trade and had it for me the next afternoon.
You can always give it a shot and see what your local dealer can find for you. They should be able to give you a solid price when they find what you want. If they try and play games or quote you a bad price, walk out the door.

I ordered my 06 when they first came out so GTs were still hard to get. They were going $3,000 to $5.000 over sticker. I was told sticker would be a really good deal. I asked myself how far I would travel to save $1,000. Turns out pretty far. The internet makes it easy to shop around. I found several dealers that would sell me a car at sticker. That allowed me to be aggressive in getting other prices. I ended up with my local dealer selling me the car $1,000 under sticker. Funny thing...two weeks earlier a different salesman was $2,000 over sticker at that same dealership.
I was fortunate in that I'm A-Plan, but I walked in to the dealer and told them that I was going to order a mustang through them... I bought my last 2 cars from them, so I guess I got good service. I placed my order on August 12, 2006 and waited an agonizing 4 months, but I got EVERYTHING I wanted and nothing I didn't. If you're looking to save money, you gotta go with inventory. If you want something specific... bite the bullet, place the order and cry everyday until you get it [sm=boohoo.gif]
You want to order, how else are you going to get "spoiler delete" and pick and choose excatly what "you" like? I didn't want the spoiler or the bulky door speakers or the bright dash glaring back at me so I ordered it my way. Everyone has different likes and dislikes so order; we're lucky you can still do this. Try beingthis selective on a Honda, Toyota, Nissan, etc. small dealer option only; it's a great thing, almost like the old days... get the car just the way you want it (after doing all the options research first of course)
My buddy owns a Ford Dealership. He gives me his price. He did say that if I send him a "Mustang Buddy," he would cut them a deal below dealer invoice. That means he actually cuts into his Ford rebate. If you live anywhere around North Carolina, I can help you out.
