You can put some soapy water around the connection to the overaxle pipes. When start you will see bubbles. You can also feel air escaping at this point with some leaks. After time....black exhaust residue will also form.

Thanks - I am really curious about this though since I am thinking of having axlebacks installed (probably Borlas)

Could you tell when you installed it?

If I have it installed at a muffler shop, can I have them check it for leaks before I drive it off?

How do you fix it?

Thanks for your help.

Man do I love the sound of Borla on a GT! It's the only exhaust I'm really interested in even though it's $$$ pricey! But I doubt it would be worth it on my V6...I'm sure there is a difference. Any opinions?

If a shop does it they will not leak...if they do then the shop is pretty bad. You should be able to putt he clamp on without leaks but it can be tough sometimes, especially with the stingers and gtas. moosestang started a nice long thread about the fitment. You can have them welded....no leaks but you cant remove them without cutting either. With a ship you should be just fine.
