Is it my imagination or are the factory mufflers with the chrome tips that come with the appearance package a little deeper and louder than the regular issue on the 05 and 06 and 07 without the gt appearance package??

Not sure. I was seriously considering a new exhaust, but now that I have mine, I like the growl I have. I will probably stay stock on the exhaust until I gte back to the states. But I definitely do hear a growl that I don't hear on most V-8s in the area

Im on stock mufflers with Pypes O/R h-pipe and it sounds pretty damn good. Quiet as stock at idle and cruise but wakes up at full throttle but not to the point of annoying.

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't think they are any louder/deeper

I just picked up my 07 the other night. I upgraded the exhaust to one that Ford offers with the Ford Racing insignia embossed on the top. Slightly larger diameter than stock but quite a different sound. Very aggresive.
