saw my first GT500 truly in the wild
1st time ive seen one outside of a car show, actually being driven on the road. black w/silver stripes. it was parked at a bank, i was outside at the atm, he started it up, GOD DAMN, that engine is DEEP. it was stock exhaust, but the engine sounds identical to my 4.6, just so goddam deep. im not talking like borla deep. im talking about just genuinley, sound coming from the engine deep.

Maybe he had a aftermarketexhaust on it??
I am only saying this as I have driven one, spent a bunch of time playing with it, blipping the throttle, etc. The car's exhaust was amazingly quiet compared to my GT's stock exhaust, no popping, etc. It sounded like a quiet GT plus lots of blower whine.
To be honest, it was faster which was great. It is most noticible in third on the highway and in the low RPM range.
But other than the power, I really walked away sort of unimpressed compared to the GT. I think the GT has a much nicer road feel and is lighter on its feet, more fun to drive, etc.
The larger engine is worth something no doubt, but I question if I would even pay sticker for one if I even found one for sticker.

I've seen quite a few here on Long Island ,there was 5 of them at our weekly "cruise spot". 2 ragtops & 3 coupes.
3 GT's also....including one that has twin turbos & 900 HP !
I'll get a pic of that next time I see it.

I've been out looking at new houses lately, and one of the houses I looked at had a Torch Red GT 500 Vert in the garage. I told the realtor we'd buy the house only if the GT500 stayed.
