Default RE: Gears?

You guys that have the 4:10's, can you tell me what rpm your turning at 70 and/or 75? I'm sure interested in the 4:10 but I'm not sure I'll be satisfied with the rev's on the Interstate.

Thanks!

Anybody had their rear end gears installed by a regular transmission shop? I'm not trying to save money, but I've actually heard by some that that is the way to go since they do it every day. I just want a good job, saving a couple of hundred bucks doesn't matter.

OK, I'm 48 and old as dirt. I picked up my new GT yesterday and had 4.10's installed by the dealer. I read every post out there. THE BEST THING I EVER DID!! They are very quiet doing 75 (not sure if I should be going over 55 with a new car). The 4.10's are an adenaline boost at every light. I wish I didn't wait this long to have this much fun. In one day, I had 3 cars trying to challenge me. I feel like a kid again. My only problem is I have only one "get out of jail free" card.

Will the dealer install them and not effect the warranty? How much did they charge you for the install. Do you have an Auto or Manual?

The gears are covered under 3yr/36000 miles. I have a stick and I think it was around $750 installed. They gave methe 3.55's to take home. I went to Trebour Ford in NJ who has a young service manager who is into performance. I lucked out.
