Default Raptor shift light placement?

I got my raptor shift light today. D'Agostino racing ships super fast!

Has anyone put the shift light under the hood? I was looking at it and it looks like it'd fit in the middle at the rear of the hood. It would definately be easy to see there.

Are there any good installation posts out there? I found a few, but they were for early mustangs.

I think I would be worried about water and the Raptor......

Here's mine from last weekend.....

Washing the car might pose a problem. I didn't really think about that.

I read your install post, not sure I want to run wires all the way up to the overhead console though.

under the hoodis a cool idea.. i cant imagine how u woudl see it but i would have to look at it closer.. i have know idea just sitting here what hte view of it is.. but i think thats a tight idea..

propably some way to water proof it or something..

but about running the wires to the overhead console.. i dont think thats too bad.. just not a fan of having it up there.. i would probably do it in the top left corner of the a pilar or sumething..

i wish there was an easy way to mod it somehow to fit into a 2 1/16 gauge slot so that u could use a 3 guage pillar pod use one slot as a shift light only.. not the ones with the digital read out of the rpm's.. i dont likethose..

any ideas on that?

I think there is what's called a "Raptor Claw" To attach it to a 3 pod pillar, or any pillar gauges.. Also, I've seen a shift light that comes mounted in a 3 pod gauge cluster for the center dash. I think Ford Dave or someone like that has it;

Autometer makes one that sort of fits what you are talking about:

The other idea I tossed around was replacing the power point in the center of the dash with the Raptor...damn close, diameter wise.....

But I just didn't want to give up the power point......

that's for the speed of sound pillar pod set up only....

ya i saw the gauge from auto meter, but i dont like the digital read out of rpms.. i think its fugly.. and looks cheap to me..

makes me reconsider the speed of sound one.. but that one just reminds me too much of like the 50's or somethign.. i dunno..

worst come to worst, ill just mount a light next to one of the gauges on the pod, and drill a hole in the pod and put a a rubber grommet in there and run the wire trhough..

actually i kina like that idea...
