its just the money.. i know i can get a decent axle back for around 300.. but i dont have the money right now, and im tryin to save money and not spend it.. (goin to college).. so im tryin to find a alternative for a better sounding exhaust for cheaper..

i might just do it and see what it sounds like..

is it ok to leave the pipes open like that.. no muffler or extension with hangers and tips on em?.. will the move aroudn too much?...

i can imagine iwoudl sound kina like cut outs.. but i dunno..

i will look into these blue rs things.. deffinately like the price.. any pics installed.. or videos or anything..
I know what you mean about money. I'm doing part time college and full time work and supporting myself. So I can't mod my car as much as I'd like That's why I took off my exhaust because Borla is super expensive and not necessary for me right now. But I would think the loudness and gurgling, etc. when taking off GT exhaust might get too irritating and maybe disurptive to neighbors and police. But if you are going to take them off, you do not want to just leave the pipes like that! You'd want to buy 2 pipes and 2 exhaust tips and 2 clamps and maybe 2-4 exhaust hangers and fabricate them onto your car. This way, the sound will have less drone, it will be deisgnated to the back of the car rather than the center, it will look like you have an actual exhaust setup (cops won't notice hopefully), it should run a bit better this way too. If you want you could take it to a shop and do it. I helped my boyfriend do mine because to be honest, it's quite simple. Cost like $20 bucks for the tip (3") and $10 for the pipe and like $10 for the clamp and hangers at AutoZone/Kragen. Good luck!

when i ran it with no mufflers, it was quiter from the backthan with my mufflers, because the exhaust was coming out under the middle/back half of the car. plus i had 2 cops pull up behind me and they didnt care that i didnt have mufflers coming out the back(or else they would have pulled me over). i just hated the sound and makes your car look and sound cheap

+ 1
Yes it does. I am working on modifying the stock mufflers by cuting the tips and the inlet pipes off, cutting the hangers off then taking all the parts to my friend you is a welder, and take a glass pac bought at an auto parts store for 25.00 weld the tips and inlet pipes to the glass pack, then set them up on the car and weld the hangers on to this setup. should sound awsome. and cost me 50 bucks hehehe

no, those were the normal tips with it. they are stainless 4" tips. just about the only downside to these is that the muffler isnt all stainless, just the tips. but i guess your stock mufflers arent stainless either so...
