are just tinted ones legal? Like not full blackouts but slightly tinted so it gives the look but still doesnt restrict the light?

yup... took mine off after I took pics and realized how much better it looks without it.

Some of you guys need to remove the GTS logo from your covers. It comes off quite nicely with some goo gone or goof off.

It would look much better IMO.

I live in SoCal and have had mine on for about 2 weeks straight and not had a single complaint. I've also got illegal tint and not a word about that yet either *knock on wood*
Even though tint is illegal here most of the time you won't get hasseled unless it is blacke out like mine and I have been stopped 3 times for the tint. Not a word said about my headlight covers or tail light covers though. It really only matters at night when the lights are in use.

As far as Virginia, I looked at the state motor vehicle code, and couldn't find anything close to addressing the covers except the brake lights must be visible from 500 feet to the rear. I did find some other interesting laws which I'll post in another thread.

I think I posted this in another thread kinda like this one but I was pulled over for my headlights being blacked out with the covers in broad daylight.... New York cops and especially the state troopers can very aggressive in ticketing u for anything and everything....
I told him that it was ok that I could get out of the car right now and just snap them off that they werent glued in... I think he mistook what I said with talkin about his momma cuz after he caught a nasty attitude and started walkin around my car and gave me 4 other tickets!!! 1 ticket for each of my tinted windows (2 sides and the rear window) and a ticket for not having a front lisence plate ( i had just put in the new front end and didnt have time to affix a plate to it yet)

5 tickets total ... I went to court though and they were all dropped! whew!

Didn't that old Jaguar (and maybe a Ferrari) that used to have the clear plastic covers over the headlights have to remove that in order to be sold in the US???
You'd think it would be a GOOD idea, as it would keep glass from being all over the road after a collision. But maybe there's some other reason that they just don't tell us! That really should be a requirement in the vehicle code!
I'm pretty sure tinted headlight and fog light covers are illegal in all states
