Default who has experience with loaner cars from ford

ok,

long story short, my car has to go back in for warranty service for the tranny.
It will be in the shop for at least 5 business days.

The dealer no longer has "courtesy" cars, but "rental" cars and they want $12.95 a day !!!!

They wont give it to me free unless i have their ESP warranty plan, which i don't.

I called customer relations, and they said that they wont pay a cent, and that if i want a car, id have to pay for it. I bought up stuff like this was my 3rd time taking it back, problem still unresolved, and the loss of use of my car and they still said no.

Anyone have any advice or input?

TIA

I've gotten two loaner cars from my dealer for free. Now if you want to get their insurance then you pay the $12-$13 per day.

Yeah they suck like that. you buy their car, it craps our or needs some type of work, but they expect you to walk everywhere while they work on it i guess.

The dealer I bought the car from always acted like they were doing me a favor when I brought the car in. First oil change took TWO hours. First try at getting the water leak fixed, they couldnt set an appointment any sooner than two weeks in advance., so I took a vacation day and set it up. On the day of the appointment, I got to the dealer 10 minutes early only to be told "the water leak guy isnt in today, you'll have to come back." The a$$hole service writer didnt even bother to look up from his desk when he told me.

So, I took it to another dealer and told them I needed a dealer that didnt take my time for granted, kept appointments, and treated me like they actually wanted my business. I told them if they could do that for me, I would have no reason to go anywhere else.

While they havent been able to completely fix the water leak, they have been very responsive to deal with, and each of the last two times the car has been in, they provided a loaner, no questions asked.

Bottom line, if your dealer treats you like $hit, find another dealer.

I've gotten a loaner twice, once when they screwed up and didn't fix something they said they did and I had to bring it back and once when I bought my 07 GO to have lojak installed. Generally you don't get one unless you have the extended warranty.

All the other times I rent and I get the extra insurance.
I also don't have any problems with my dealer. On my FSVT they were replacing some guages and scratched the instrument panel plastic face, they called me to tell me that and they needed to keep the car an extra day to replace it.
