Wheel alignment interval?

There is a significantlabor cost associated withCHECKING the alignment through the machine vice using reliable indicators like tire wear or pulling to one side. Also, as Thurman stated, you can get an alignment, leave the shop, hit a pothole, and throw the alignment off. The only way you would know would be pulling or tire wear. In order to minimize potential misalignment, I normally have one done either when I rotate the tires or after pothole season.
YMMV

Seems like most places will check your alignment for free when you have your tires rotated, but everyone knows how that can go sometimes. I think it is fairly noticeable when the front end needs alignment. If you don't notice the pulling, you will definitely notice it sooner or later on the tire wear pattern.
