Side Window Louvers - EBay
The SilverHorse Racing flush mount louvers are the best IMO. http://www.silverhorseracing.com/web...string=louvers
That'll **** me off if mine have the overspray.
Starting to think I should have went with Hubcaps Plus....
And how the hell does taping them off increase costs?

I'm a complete newbie when it comes to paint. Where exactly did you place the tape?
I like your idea, but I can't afford to mess them up.

1. Make sure you buy the non-stick BLUE 3M tape, its like post it notes adhesive, compared to rip off anything underneath white masking tape.
2. Place the tape on the slots from the painted side, so they are flat on each vent.
The tape will be sticky when looking from the side you need to paint from.
3. I also taped and covered the entire thing in newspaper, to prevent overspray from getting on the nice painted surface.
4. Flip over and lay on back.
5. Spray in direction away from the taped slots, so you are not forcing extra paint towards the taped areas.
It takes a couple of coats, but it's worth it!

Any Brand Flat Black will work.
Just get one that dries fast. Go to Home Depot or Loews or Wallyworld.
Flat black is the easiest to paint, just don't spray too much and make drips.
Spray it multiple times instead within the time limits specified on the can.
I still wonder why he could not tape them up, and paint them at his shop. I would pay 10.00 buck more for the better product!

oh, for anyone worried about the view, these louvers give the best view through them. That's a big reason why I chose them over the Roush and the scoop-type ones.
Your rearview mirrors won't help if you are backing out of a parking space in a parking lot, so you need to be able to see out to the sides, where mirrors won't help one bit. With the way these clowns drive their SUVs in parking structures you need to get as good a look as you can. I also try to rool down my window so maybe i can hear them coming. I also turn on my own headlights when I am driving in a parking garage, just to let anyone backing out know I'm coming.

Thanks for the info in this thread. I looked at the louvers a while back and now I'm gonna order them.
