There is a lock out so you dont accidently slip it into reverse from another gear. If you leave it in first when you part and are going right to reverse that is your problem. You must put in N first.

Put it in 4th gear first, then reverse.

Yeah i have an 07 GT with 1200 miles and when i park at night its in 1st gear. In the morning i walk out there and just turn it on and throw it in reverse. If you start in nuetral go into a gear like 4th which was stated all reasy. i personally go into 1st b4 reverse. if it doesnt help take it to ford it should be under warranty right? If i get a problem in not going to trya nd fix it thats why i got rid of my 96

no really guys im having a problem.
You emailed me stating "dont treat me like you think im a dumbass"

I have e-mailed you with this reply.

What are you talking about? If you check any of my over 300 posts, you'll see that I have never made a smartass reply. I don't think you're a dumbass. My answer was a serious answer. If you start off in the morning and try to put the manual trans in reverse without first going to a forward gear it will be harder to get into gear. I suggested 4th gear first and then reverse. I don't understand your reply.
