I'm considering trading my 06 V6 for a 07 GT however how will the dealer react to a modded V6 (CAI/tune, muffler) or should I take them off before going to ask about the trade...it'll be some work taking it off and if the deal doesen't go through put it back on ......

I'd take off the after-market stuff and sell them. The dealer will buy the car from you but not pay any more for the performance mods. If you put the stock stuff back on and sell the CAI and muffler on a board like this or craigs list, you'll get money for them and for the car from the dealer.

You should at least take the CAI/Tune off...the dealer won't give you anything extra for them, if the deal goes thru then sell them on ebay and get some of your expense back on those...

Definitly take off the CAI/tune. A lot of times dealers will take money off the value of the car because it has aftermarket components. That will ensure you get the best offer on a trade in, and if you can, make a few extra bucks selling it to someone else.......

If your car is in good shape, I would suggest that you sell it instead of trading it in. You can come out thousands ahead if you sell it yourself and then buy your new stang w/o a trade. Just a tip from someone who has been buying and selling cars for forty years......

Never trade a vehicle in...they F you bad! Also, if you have to trade it in, take off the aftermarket stuff, your vehicle loses value with these items
