well for new jersey, you need a front plate but there is a loop hole that the front plate has to be so many inches away from the proper location. I dont think us mustang owners can get away with that cause our hood/front ends are so damn big
Right, the V6 has an outline for it, the GT bumpers just have tiny little dimples where the screws should go (which the dealers cant seem to find when they install their tags, so they put them on crooked).
I wouldnt think you would get points for it.. doesnt seem that major. Probably similiar to dark tint.. a small fine and you have to correct the problem.
Ive seen a few people on the forum with the holder..I believe ANBAUTO has one his car as of recently, he might have a pic in his gallery.

Well from a LE point of view, did you get pulled over for the liscense plate or did you get pulled over for something else and he ended up giving you a verbal for the plate. Everybody is different but I probably wouldn't be to stressed out on writing a ticket for no front plate unless you were being silly.

In California the front plate has to be mounted inthe factory location. The window won't count. Not sure if the same applies to your state.

EDIT:
Here's what I found re: CA Law on the front plate:
"5201. License plates shall at all times be securely fastened to the
vehicle for which they are issued so as to prevent the plates from
swinging, shall be mounted in a position so as to be clearly visible,
and shall be maintained in a condition so as to be clearly legible.
The rear license plate shall be mounted not less than 12 inches nor
more than 60 inches from the ground, and the front license plate
shall be mounted not more than 60 inches from the ground, except as
follows", the rest of which applies to rear plates and covers OVER the license plate...
Based upon that, the license plate has to be legible, has to be securely fastened, and has to be clearly visible.
[align=left]If the plate is viewable from outside the car, and will not be over a height of 5' (or 60 inches, as is stated in the California Vehicle code), and is FASTENED IN A MANNER TO PREVENT THE PLATE FROM SWINGING, then it is a LEGAL mount, according to the vehicle code. Any cop that says otherwise will have to prove it in a court of law that it has to be mounted ONLY to the front of the car. According to this, if I wanted to, I could mount it to where it stuck straight up from the roof of the car, if the top edge of it was under 60 inches from the ground and the plate was fastened to where it would not swing, and wasn't covered in some way as to make it unviewable.
Now, as for MA law...Can't help you there; I've not been able to find the MA Vehicle Code online yet.

For us Ohioans the code states............No person who is the owner or operator of a motor vehicle shall fail to display in plain view on the front and rear of the motor vehicle the distinctive number and registration mark, including any county identification sticker and any validation sticker issued under sections 4503.19 and 4503.191 of the Revised Code.
It further states that.......B) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
Me, I'm not drilling her. No front plate here.

I can't attest to it's functionality as the dealer had already bored two holes to mount the tag when I picked the car up.

Any Maryland residents here? I'll be moving there shortly from a state with no front plate law. Kinda bummed about that.

He pulled me over for the plate only. There was two officers as well. I only drive her on nice days and always obey the laws of the road. They probably couldn't wait to find a reason to pull me over. In a town of maybe 2000 people and being 20 years old and owning a Mustang they probably would have pulled me over for looking the wrong way. I only said the window idea cause If I could I would just put in my window when I go in/out of town.
