Looking to UPGRADE a 06 Stang GT too a 08 or 09 GT
Well I see in kellys blue book that my 2006 stang gt premium Auto with shacker1000 is worth around the $22,500 mark as a tradein with a dealer............
I am sure I can get a 2007 GT at around the $26,000 mark for a GT premium with manual trans and shacker 500......
But I was thinking maybe in Aug I will get a 2008 GT at invoice,I will be paying CASH on top on the tradein......
But as I am looking at the 2008s that will be coming out soon,I really see that there is really noooo change except the Candy apple color.
Really there is no reason for me to get a 2008 with my 17,000 on the car now?
I am sure and its not too far off, that I can get a 2009 in Aug of 2008 and I hear that the car will have more horse power and I am sure I still can get the car at INVOICE since GM and MOPAR will be having there cars coming out about then....
I am starting to see GTs all over on dealer lots as of now,,,I guess most of us bought them and now ford is stuck with them and will be giving great deals otherwise they will be stuck with them ...JT

If you expect to get an invoice deal, don't expect top dollar for your trade. Think about it, if they're selling new GT's for $26k, how can they give you almost $23k for yours? What will they sell it for such that it's not too close to the price of a NEW 2007 (would you pay $24k fora nearly two-year-old used Mustang when you could get a brand new one for $2k more?)? Realistically, you should expect closer to $18k for the trade, or whatever "fair" trade value is on kbb.com.

Some guy in the V6 forum traded his 06 V6and got$19,000 I think he would get about $22k for his GT.

Although you're right, chances of selling the car for $23k is highly unlikely.

The dealer needs to make money on the resale. So if they buy it for $22K than they are going to want to sell it for at least $23K or more. Let's see, brand new GT for $24K or used for $23K?
The only way the dealer would buy his car for $22K is if they plan on rolling the difference into the new loan. Let's say they really only want to pay $18K......they will roll $4K into your loan.....guaranteed. So many people think dealers are willing to lose money on a sale.....think again. Carrier fees, doc fees, clean-up fees, paint protection, etc.......they get their money.

RE: Looking to UPGRADE a 06 Stang GT too a 08 or 09 GT
When I sold my 2003 Stang GT and I got the kelly Blue Book for it at my Ford dealer. And they gave me Invoice for my 2006 Gt Premium with Auto and Shacker1000..
MSRP was $30,125
Invoice was $27,885
I think I got a great deal,,,,,Yep if the dealer is useing kelly blue book I would think the $22,000 on it will be the tradin.
So I will have Manual and shacker500 on my next Gt premium so I would think I will hope to get a deal...
And if I get around $19,000 when the New 09 Stang Gts come out in Aug of 2008 I will put the $8000 cash down and have no freaking payments lol....
Yea I think I will wait and hope to have more horse power in the 2009 GTs....JohnnyT
