Mustang & snow?
I am thinking about purchasing a 07 GT or V6 and wanted to know if any members use their Mustang all year? I live in Philly and we get some snow but not much, will the Mustang with the stock all season tires / traction control get me through 1 - 3 inches of snow if I need to?
I have the 2005 GT with the stock Pirellis. Yes I drive it year round, I live in Salt Lake City so we see our share of snow. The Mustang was never a great car in the snow, but mine is OK. I wouldn't want to have to do a ton of miles in the snow, but around town and a little highway driving its OK
Many people have put snow tires on and they said the car was pretty good in snow. I will be investing in some winter tires next year.

Hi, I can help you out a little bit here! I live in SD and last year was the first winter with my mustang and I drove it as often as I could in the snow. It wasn't too bad driving, but not real great either, but when it got too deep I had to park it. I don't have snow tires on though, so that might have helped. We get ALOT of snow. Heres a picture for you to ponder. I didn't get to drive for a few days until I dug it out of the 26 inches of snow we got!!

If you can get going its not too bad. The hardest part is starting out in the snow.. . . .it just sits there and spins. But I did have the stock tires and no weight in the back. So that might make a difference.
That is the GT / color I want. LOL - if your GT made it out of that snow drift I think I should be OK in 2-3 inches. I would think the traction control & limit dif would help on the GT?

First off...If you can afford another beater for the winter...do so
If not...I Highly recommend putting on Snow Tires on for the winter months..they are pretty cheap and work extremely well..check tirerack.com in the fall. They are a must...All season only go so far..

ajc,
The Tungsten Grey is awesome, there is only 2 in town, one is a v6 with the pony package, the other is mine. The traction control being turned off helped some, but the snow was packed in the wheel wells and under the car. We had about 60 mph winds that couple of days. It sucked. I shoveled and drove it out to the shop and it took like 3 days to melt everything from under the car!! 1-3 inches, you should be fine. Can't wait to see pictures of your new car.
