Sorry to hear about that. We've had a few storms here lately with hail nearby, but I've been lucky with my 5 day old 07 GT. I told my son the other evening that we might spend the night sitting in the car in a carwash to protect it LOL. I was only partially jokeing though.

I left it at home in the drive yesterday and we had some storms with reported tennis ball sized hail. I was on pins and needles at work all afternoon worrying about it. No damage though. Just goes to show that it can happen at any time. My garage is full of junk so I park mine in the drive. Plans are to get a carport very soon.

I hope you can get it all worked out and again am sorry to hear about that. It makes me cringe thinking about it.

Sorry to hear about your loss. You best have it appraised at a body shop. I don't know if it would be a total or not. Sometime that dent removal stuff is if they can get to the back of it or not. If you got it all over, some probably won't. I was at a buddiesbody shop this morning looking at a messed up car and asked why it wasn't totaled and he said because of how cheap the panels could be replaced. Now if all your panels are expensive it might be totaled. Especially if you tell them it's a new car and don't want bondo (filler) used. Good luck whatever happens.

I live in the St. Louis area too. (St. Peters)What town were you in that got hit? Hail damage has alway been one of my biggest fears. I drive a $500 car this time of year (and in the winter) because of it.

Sorry to hear it bro. I know I would be upset.

Paintless Dent Removal saved mine. Last year we had some tornadoes and hail. I was at work when it started. Every panel had a ding. Took it to a paintless dent removal place and it is amazing. Aside from the swirl marks they created from using terry towels to dry it... [:@] But, you can't tell it was dented.

Then I had a WEIRD experience. About three months later, it started hailing again. I FREAKED out and ran to a car wash and snuck into a bay. Then about 6 other Mustangs pull in!!! lol. It was awesome, all S197s. Really cool.

Stupid hail.

Haha, that's great! I would think you'd do more damage to the car driving it in hail to the car wash than letting it sit though.

Sorry to hear the bad new man. That sucks, but what could you do. We get hail here in South Carolina, but usually it is very small. Big hail here is golf ball size. Most of the time you can barely see the hail (notice I am not complaining). Good luck with the repairs!

I live in Herculaneum which is next to Festus (15 min south of South County). I just got back from the paintless dent removal place and they quoted me $2330. Every single panel has dents but luckily theyre not too big. They said it shoudnt be a problem. I also took the car to a bodyshop and they said dent removal was the way to go. Just gotta get the insurance guy to take a look. The car got off easy compared to the siding on my house.

I've dodged hail by finding a drive thru bank lane. We get some in Florida and you just never know when it's going to happen. There's a certain sound as hail hits your car that almost induces vomit along with sheer panic...

I am so glad I have a garage to park in when I am at home... I see so many people around using their garage for storage it's insane. A garage is for your car, to protect it against the sun's rays and hail, not for crap that is produced by your household.

But yeah, if I where out working and a hailstorm would hit... I'd be bummed. You know most of the time, at least here in texas, some hail damage will pop out on it's own due to the heat of the sun.
