i am pretty sure you are right. The X-plan is a set price
True. I was there when my g/f bought her Escape and once you hit the X-Plan, they won't give you rebates or haggle or anything.

The flip side of that is that when I bought my stang, I got the guy below the X-Plan price so I didn't use it.
Thats problebly the best thing to do. In other words dont show that card untill you need it.

I just bought bought 07 yesterday, used Xplan and STILL got the 1000 dollar rebate. Sticker was 29,989. Final price was 27000. I didnt see a need to haggle any further, as the dealer wasnt making doodoo on it.

not too bad. It looks like a fully loaded Premium?
The X-plan sounds like the way to go, if only to avoid the silly hassles of haggling.
When I bought mine it was easy because there was so much demand for the 2005 GT (3-5 K over MSRP) that I just said I'll pay sticker if you get what I want in.
I don't know if this link will work, but have you looked at Carmax's prices? Anyone deal with them before?

I bought my first Stang on the Xplan and it knocked about $4K off the sticker price. You have to remember another thing, the dealer does not have to honor the Xplan if they choose not to. If they offer any rebates you can ask, but who knows if they will add it on or not. Using the Xplan is a no-nonsence way to buy. They just go inside, bring you the invoice, and the Xplan price is printed on there. No haggle, no I am going to talk to my boss, just here you are do you agree. It takes all the head ache out of buying a car. Good luck with your choice!
