I just finished cleaning my 07 GT and noticed that the "leather" on the lower-left side of the driver's seat back (left hip area) is cracking and starting to shread. I don't wear anything on my belt (phone, etc) that would rub in that area, yet the wear is terrible. The car has 2000 miles on it.

Has anyone else noticed this problem? Should Ford warranty this defect? Thanks.

 

Yes Ford will warranty it. When you take it in do not say the things above you just said. Simply take it in and show them the problem.

I noticed I was sliding accross that portion of the seat every time I got in. I made my self move over that to sit in the seat instead of sliding over it and I dont have any wear after 9 months and 14.000 miles on my leather in my 07. But it would still seam that the seats could be done better for sure.

A friend of mines 05 leather seat is hard and lumpyin that same spot. He said Ford is covering it .

 

I have had my upper and lower driver seat's leather already replaced. The less you say the better but show it to them and let them replace it or else.

 

Thanks for everyone's advice. I took it to the dealer today. The service writer took pictures, sent them directly to Ford and I was approved for the repairs in about 10 minutes. I can't complain about the service. Hopefully, the piece used in the repair will be tougher than what I had.
