Used 2005 C6 Z51 vette vs. new Whippled GT

Used 2005 C6 Z51 vette vs. new Whippled GT
I'm debating between getting these two vehicles. The Used Vette I could probably find for about 38k or so, with less than 10,000 miles... might have to get it shipped to me from another state, although once I had money to throw a supercharger or turbo on it, it'd be smoking. But anyway how does a stock C6 Z51 vs. a supercharged GT with no other mods perform? Maybe also put on a suspension on the GT.
I'm thinking the Vette will still cost a few thousand more stock even though it's used.

I'd go with the vette... Theres more to enjoying a car than just performance. The vette is more prestige and impressive. Chicks would dig a vette way more.
I'm not into used cars, but if you can get it for under 10K miles then its as good as new andsounds like fun to me.

One problem though, i'm not sure if I will fit in a vette. I'm 6' 5" tall. Do you know if the vette and mustang has the same amount of room? I mostly find sometimes my knees in smaller cars will be right up in the dash. I don't have this problem with my O5 Tacoma, but i'm going to be selling that to get ethier a used vette or new stang.

From what I hear, its harder to F/I a Vette, people do it, but I think the cost and tunning are pretty high, where as a Mustang F/I is easier to do. I am 6'4 and sat in a vette and it didnt work for me, but the mustang seems like its better for tall people.

Well I went up against exactly what you're referring to. I'm not sure what mods he had, but it was extremely loud and raspy. I figure full exhaust, offroad x, headers, lid and maybe cam. I never heard it idle, but it was loud. It was really close to say the least. I have the full suspension setup and Whipple like you are looking for, check sig. This was onan isolatedhighway and I had a 235 Ib passenger with me as well. I was faster from about the 50-90 mph range (we were from a roll), about the same up to120-130 mph range and then he started pulling ever so slightly. Unfortunately I don't know if it was my governor since the speedo was pegged, since it remains @ 140mph with the FRPP tune. If I was alone, we probably would have been dead even, that's how close it was. Like I said, can't confirm his mods, but it definitely was not stock and at the very least had a full exhaust system. I need to get a bumpsteer kit, lowered and going 115+, any bump you hit you definitely feel in the steering...which can get a little scary. Needless to say, he was very surprised.
The thing you have to remember is that the vette is a lot more expensive to mod and has a lot higher compression, so you can't run boost as well. However, you get nice bumps in rwhp with bolt-ons. Plus, I just like the look of the new S197 better myself.[8D]Most people around here generally think "older retired guy" when they see a vette too.
Good luck with your decision.
