Looking to buy a 2008 Mustang
So when are the 08's going to be for sale?
I want to get a Vista Blue with white racing stripes. Anyway I can get a hood scoop with stripes?
Probably gonna get an automatic, since it will be my daily driver and although I love standard, it is very difficult to shift/steer with a Venti Carmel Macciahto in your hand on the way to work. I was thinking about the Shelby car, but it only comes standard and the gas milage is not a good as the GT.
Ok before everyone jumps on the why an automatic for a sporty car. Well I just bought a 02 Viper in Febuary so I get all the joy I need driving that stick. I want something more fun to drive than the escape, without buying another gas hog.
My reason for buying the mustang is I love the way they look. They stand out amoung all the other cookie cutter type cars. Like the Corvette's they are fairly common so I don't anticipate a whole lot of Mustang envy. I feel that you can park a mustang anywhere and more than likely you won't get keyed or vehicle trashed. Gas milage for highway is around 20 which is good enough. Although if I add a better exhaust and intake that might even improve a bit.

The start production on the 08's in June. When I ordered my 07 last year in April I recieved it the last week in August. You'll like the Vista Blue, it's a beautiful color. Hey don't worry about what others think about a auto. After I had manuals for almost all of my 36 years of driving, my left leg needed a break. And it's nice too, granted I still manual shift the auto almost everyday on a nice straight it's nice to leave in drive especially around town.

Yeah not worried about the Auto, cause I have the Viper to play with. Looking for a sleek daily driver. Wife is pushing me towards a Jag or BMW, but to be honest I don't really like the way they look. I just wish the Mustang seated 5 instead of 4. But if I am taking the whole family out we will take my wife's Trailblazer. I just need 4 to pick up the kids. Might even put an extra belt in the back and have the oldest sit on the hump in the back. Not like it is my *** that is gonna be sore hehe! (I'll get him a seat cushion)

Very little specs are out on the 2008's yet. I know they are discontinuing some colors. Hope it isn't Vista Blue, as that's a nice color. If you get a chance start building your Mustang at the Ford website and then look at what is on the dealer's lot. Most of the time what you want will NOT be available, meaning you'll have to compromise on certain options... especially if you DON'T want Sirius or DO want Chamois seats. Hard to find!
Best bet is to try to test drive as many Mustangs as possible. 2005-2007's are all pretty much the same as 2008 and you'll know what options you can't live without. Then place an order in June. Maybe you'll get the first one!

Ya keep looking at the Ford website for 08 specs. They'll be out soon. You can go talk to a salesman, he already has the order specs. (colors etc.) Unless you want the latest new upgrade package, you should be able to order what you want. You might have to wait until June, if your lookingto see if there's something special coming out.

For the exterior paint three new colors are added and three are going away, Silver Clearcoat Metallic (YN)is replacing Satin Silver, Dark Candy Apple Red Clearcoat Metallic (JV)is replacing Redfire and Vapor Clearcoat Metallic (ZY)is replacing Tungsten. Major options added for 2008 include Ambient interior lighting (95M), HID headlamps (51H) and V6 Mustang Coupeswill have the option of 18″ Premium Polished Forged Wheels. A new V6 Safety & Security Package will be offered that includes Anti-Lock Brakes, Traction Control, Active Anti-Theft System and a wheel locking kit. In the safety department side airbags are now standard on all 2008 model Mustangs.
Can you always order a new mustang to your specifications, or do they cut that off with the initial round of orders?
