This looks like the same FRPP power pack as already installed on the Shelby GT. Why only +12 HP though when the Shelby GT is rated 319, only +12 HP sounds really low. Did they detune is a bit more to cut down on gas guzzler taxes?
Shelby stripes are worth 7hp. Probably some agreement they have with him, that their cars won't eclipse his power-wise.

Anyone whos pays the dealership markup on these things.......seriously, just go buy a REAL 68 Fastback GT. It's not going to depreciate in value. Remember the 01 Bullitt Mustang???

I'd buy one just for the ability to get it in Highland green.

This would be the only mustang I would actually trade in my 06 v6 for. Then I really could compare my brothers Bullit to an S197 version.

There is only a small segment of themarket that is willing to spend extra thousands over MSRPfor a limited version. The morelimited versions are released, the faster you saturate that segment of the market. Once those people buy the 'special stang' they wanted, all of these versions will be selling for MSRP or lower.

If you really want a Bullitt edition or Shelby GT or GT500, etc.......then just wait a little bit. There are dealers selling GT500's around the SE Michigan area for $50K now......in another year they'll be selling for MSRP.
I think Ford finally figured out how to make a premium markup on one of their cars! By issuing special editions in limited quantaties, they can charge a considerable markup. Also, the demand seems to be there for the Special Editions, especially with the "Baby Boomers", and I know there are a few of you in this forum. The smartest move that Ford made with the mustang was ditch the new edge style and go with the Retro styling of the S197 which would appeal to this age group.

basho, I do agree with your comments regarding the price reduction the Special Edition stangs over time. I imagine that prices will really come down in summer 2008 when the new redesign is released (If ford is still targeting that time)...

From what I have seen the new Bullitt is a major disappointment, nice car, but, Highland Green Shelby GT with a Bullitt name badge and 15K ADM
