Granatelli CAI install / battery question
Hey,
The Granatelli CAI install instructions mention disconnecting the battery before install. Does anyone know if that is just for electrical/static safety, or if it needs to be donefor a reset type thing. Reason I'm asking is that I also heard that if you disconnect the battery/or dead battery, the auto tranny could lose it's programming and need to either be reset or re-learn it's shift points. Is this totally absurd, or has anyone else heard this. Thanks

RE: Granatelli CAI install / battery question
my GUESS is that it is 90% for liability reasons
and 10% for good general shop practices....
i usually default to manufacturer's recommendations,
when it comes to a judgement call like this...

RE: Granatelli CAI install / battery question
I installed the granatelli without disconnecting anything and everything was fine. Most of the time when your dealing with anything electrical they tell you to disconnect the battery to be safe. But you should be fine.
