All comes down to personal taste -- the only black rims I like are the matte black powdercoated rims (no polished lip). I've seen them twice, once on a Torch Red running 20" Saleens in matte black, and another on a black 'Stang with 18" fanblades. The black with matte black fanblades looked absolutely sinister!

Interestingly enough, I see them all the time and think, They look pretty good on that car! BUT, I can't see myself ever buying black rims???? It's hard to explain.

Ironically enough I was driving home from work after I posted and saw exactley what I was refering to.I couldn't get my cell phone out quick enough to snap a picture.A black Magnum Dodge Wagon pulled up to me at a light I had plenty of time to check out these rims while the car was not running. The rims were stock I believe. They had the Dodge logo all over them. They were FLAT BLACK it almost looked as if they were spray painted. It was a black car with flat black rims it looked horrific. As it drove away it kind of reminded me of a police patrol car or a car missing it;s hub caps.Everything posted here so far looks good with chrome accents and studs etc.But this cars rims were hidious and done deliberatey. They looked a little like this.Who would paint these rims? http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/pts/331013699.html

I only prefer a black rim if they have a nice polished ring; they also look great in motion! "Bling Bling" Chrome isn't for me.
