Sounds like a trip to the strip to me.Try each type of launch and compare numbers. But from my auto launching days I have always left it in D held the brake and brought the Rpm's to the limit of almost wanting to spin the tires andthen flooring the gas,but not as quick as I could.Try pressing the gas pedal down at diffrent speeds..Traction wise off the line.JMO

my wife and I both have 06 GT's w a/t. the best times we have been able to get is stalling it up to about 2,000 then flooring it. also heating up the tires where you have no tire spin slows them down because they dont start pulling hard till they reach about 3500 rpm. hers is completely stock and has ran a best of 13.90 in a strong head wind. I now have a high stall converter and can pull high 12's with 1.85 60'. converter is by far the best mod for an auto. still get within 2-3 mpg of my wifes car but pulls so much harder of the line.

Stall converter will change the whole attitude of the car and is great for great launches in an auto. But until then neutral slam it (mimicking a stall converter) at 2200-2500 RPMs to get in the power ban and make sure to warm up the tires so you dont spin as much and make sure the traction control is off! Many people forget about that one. Until it is habit just turn of the T/C as soon as you get in the car. Practice makes perfect and getting to know the car with any mods you may have is a good choice as you don't want to look like a fool during a race. JMO J
