Default tuner help..

[posted in the 4.0 seciton, but I hope I would get more answers here]

Ok i have a problem, I installed my intake and went to install the tune but it said wrong vehicle! F***!! I bought the tuner from soemone here but now what do I do? He said he returned his to stock, and unmated it to his car. Now I don't want to return it to stock, it's a PITA and I don't have time.. so what's the easiest way? Is there no possible way but to buy a new tune?? I need some help quick! Thanks guys.. i really appreciate it.

If its the xcal2 use the live load program from there site to unlock the programmer. Even though you return the previous vehicle to stock you must still unlock the programmer using live load in some cases.

i was hoping you could dodge this bullet. you
may have locked up your PCM, by uploading
a tune with the wrong pcm calibration code.

this can be fixed so don't worry too much. i'll see
if i can find the links on this......

here are some read's on the subject:

Damn.. I hope it's not that.. but I guess I'm gonna have to reinstall the stock intake back on there til I figure out what's gonna happen or if im gonna need to get a new tune. Anyone else with some other thoughts or had this happen to them please step in. Thanks

i think the worst case scenario, is that on
Tuesday you take your pcm to a ford
dealership, to have them reload the stock
tune for your VIN

everything will work out
