First time playing with the traction control OFF + wet roads = Ditch. Coming right ,off of a ramp, did 90 to the left then 270 to the right (over corrected with too much gas) and backed her into the median. No damage but she smells like swamp mud. Think I will hit the big parking lot for remedial practice.

Glad to hear you and the car are ok, and just be glad ya didnt hit another car, or a pole... or big foot. [&:]

And yes, wet empty parking lots are enjoyable.

I hit the gas too hard in a left turn tonight... Not raining here... The rear wheels spun and my car started coming around. It whipped back thank god. Had it slid I wouldve went sideways into a pole.

I never drive this car hard, so this was a nice reminder to respect the car.

Confidence in our rather rudimentary TCS may be somewhat misplaced in any event. I've done the parking lot thing to find out where the limits are.

The ABS is good but I found the TCS was unpredictable. I still keep it on in the wet but drive as if I don't have it.

When driving these cars on wet roads common sense should prevail, wether the TCS is on or off. Even more so with lower gears ratio's. Please drive safely, 'cause I'd rather talkwith you guys, instead of talking about you in the past tense.

I know I had the rear end come around on me with the TCS ON one night..Wet roads, very light rain (first rain of the year, too, so there was the oils that were being brought up on the roads) and I went around the turn at about 10-15 mph.

All of a sudden, I felt the rear end start swinging around like a pendulum. Soon as I felt it, the foot came off the gas and I cranked the wheels into the slide, and went, "Wow...Now I know how easily the rear end comes loose. Hm. I think I'll need to go home and change my shorts now."
