Extra Play?
I have a fairly steep driveway that levels out at the top. Usually I go up in 2nd (depends, sometimes 1st) and push in the clutch when the driveway levels out so that I can "coast" into my garage. However, I've noticed that sometimes when I push in the clutch just as I reach the top, I get a "clunk" noise. Almost like, the car is under a load, and when I release it, there is some slack somewhere in the driveline. I can't tell if it's coming from the rear end (3.55) or the tranny.
Is this normal? Any idea what it could be?

You may need to learn how to "feather" that clutch.
I've found that the clutch wants to"work", at low RPM, and actually wants to keep going.
This is a hydraulic clutch, that is "driver" friendly, unlike the "spring loaded clutches" of yesteryear.
The "clunks", and "jerks" you are having, are from driver error, and inexperience,..... don't worry,...... or feel bad, you will learn how to drive it.
It's really not the car's fault, it's yours. But, you'll be OK !!

Thanks for the advice. I was taught how to drive stick by an 'old timer' who warned me not to play with the clutch. That it should either be in or out, with smooth transistions. So, when I feel the clutch start to grab, I usually don't hold it there because, naturally, I feel like I'd be burning it up.
